Argan oil is produced from the kernels of the argon tree, which grows in Morocco. Thousands of years ago the Berber tribes of Morocco discovered that argan oil could protect their skin and hair against the harsh semi-desert living conditions. It is sometimes referred to as 'liquid gold'.
Argan oil contains a high amount of vitamin E and A, therefore being a natural antioxidant, as well as unsaturated fatty acids. It is known to have anti-ageing skin properties, moisturizing skin properties, strengthen hair and brittle nails, and prevent stretch marks during pregnancy.
Below are a few ways to use argon oil in your everyday life for beautiful skin and hair:
Rejuvenating face mask - Mix 3 teaspoons thick yogurt, 1 tablespoon honey, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, and 4 drops of argan oil in a bowl. Apply on clean, dry face and leave on for 10-15 minutes. Rinse off with warm water.
Overnight hair treatment - Apply a large amount of argan oil onto your hair, massage well on the scalp and hair ends. Wrap your hair in foil and leave on overnight. In the morning wash your hair with regular shampoo.
Face moisturizer - At night apply a few drops of argan oil directly onto your clean face. Let it absorb into your skin.
Exfoliating lip scrub for dry lips - Mix fine brown sugar with a few drops of argan oil and vanilla extract. Lightly massage into your lips, afterwards rinse off with warm water.
