Rejuvenating shea butter nail balm

During the winter time or after using nail polish for a longer period of time (and nail polish remover) my nails tend to get dry, brittle and cracking. The same happens if I expose my hands to any kind of chemicals, which are present in house hold cleaning detergents and cleansers.

To help my nails recover and get back their smooth and shiny healthy look I have put together a rejuvenating shea butter nail balm.

The ingredients:

1 tsp beeswax
2 tsp shea butter
2 Tbsp sesame oil
1 tsp avocado oil
1/3 tsp lanoline
8 drops vitamine E oil
5 drops lemon essential oil

Preparation:

Place all of the ingredients (except the vit E oil and essential oil) in a small pan or double boiler and melt over low heat (shea butter should not be exposed to high temperature or it becomes lumpy so keep an eye on this). Next leave for a few minutes to slightly cool down before adding the vit E oil and lemon essential oil. Mix well and pour into containers of your choice.

Apply a small amount to nails 1-2 times a day. Gently massage into the plate of the nails and leave for a few minutes to dry. You will see your nails becoming smother and shiner after just a  few applications.
