Rose hip seed oil

If you have read some of my previous blog posts you probably already know that I am a big fan of evening primrose oil and coconut oil. These two I practically never run out of in the house. Another oil I have learned to like a lot is rose hip seed oil. Rose hip seed oil is a pressed seed oil extracted from the seeds of a rose plant which grows wild in Chile. Rose hip seed oil is classified as a "dry" oil, which means that it soaks into the skin easily, and does not leave a greasy residue. It is a great hydrator, and can be used straight from the bottle as a moisturizer, or can be added to creams, lotions, etc. It is a very gentle oil and can be used for sensitive skin. It contains a large amount of both vitamin A and vitamin C. This oil is known to work great in reducing and preventing wrinkles and signs of aged skin. It is used for eczema, psoriasis, stretch marks, UV damaged skin, and scars (including acne scars). It is also used for brittle nails and dry and damaged hair.
I often add a part of rose hip seed oil when I am making a face cream. Sometimes though I just apply it directly to my face and leave it overnight. It really absorbs very quickly and leaves the skin very soft and smooth.
The rose hip oil I buy can be found online at:
