White kaolin clay face masks

The word "kaolin" is derived from the name of the place it originates - the Kaoling Hill in China from which region the mineral was mined for centuries. It is also known as China clay or China stone. It is composed of silica, iron, magnesium, calcium, sodium, zinc, and other minerals. Kaolin is a white, insoluble powder with very good absorbent qualities. This ability can be used to absorb impurities and toxins from skin. Kaolin clays can be incorporated into soaps, scrubs, facial masks, body powders, and a number of other skincare products. Kaolin clay comes in many colors - white, pink, yellow, and red, although white is the most common and easiest to obtain. The naturally occurring colors indicate different minerals. White kaolin clay does no draw oils from skin, therefor it has mild cleansing and exfoliating properties. White clay is the most gentle followed by yellow then pink and red becoming slightly more astringent. White clay is suitable for all skin types, particularly for dry, sensitive ad mature skin. This gentle clay ideal for sensitive skin is often used in soaps or shaving creams to give them a silky slip.
