Lush product review - Fresh Farmacy face soap

As I mentioned last week I have also been testing the Fresh Farmacy face soap from Lush for the last 3 weeks. At first I thought that it was very overpriced, but now seeing how little I actually have used up of the 100 g that I bought 3 weeks ago I don't think it comes out so expensive in the end. As it does not come in any container it is a good idea to use a small closed container to store it in (I use a small tin container). After purchasing the soap I first cut it up into smaller chunks, it is easier to store and use it that way.

The scent of Fresh Farmacy face soap is not very impressive, to me it smells like a herbal medicine cabinet (so the name suits the product perfectly). I wasn't very happy with the fact that the 'soap' has SLS as a cleanser...not a huge fan of SLS. At first I found the soap drying. After I washed my face with it for the first time the skin was very tight and dry. I had to apply a lot of moisturizer to make it feel good again. After a few washes my skin seemed to get more used to it and I don't have this impression anymore that it is drying out my skin so horribly. Though I still use a moisturizing cream right after using it. I wash my face with this soap every morning, sometimes also at night before going to bed. It definitely leaves a clean and refreshed feeling to the skin. Also it calms minor break outs. I don't know if it works so well for serious cases of acne, but for preventing and calming minor acne problems it seems to be a nice solution. It is a decent face soap for times when your skin is troubled or just as a regular everyday soap to keep your skin under control.

 What are the ingredients?

Calamine Powder, Chamomile Decoction (Anthemis nobilis), Elderflower Decoction (Sambucus nigra), Sodium Stearate, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Glycerine, Lavender Oil (Lavender hybrida), Chamomile Oil (Anthemis nobilis), Tea Tree Oil (Melaleuca alternifolia), Rose Absolute (Rose centifolia), Sodium Chloride, EDTA, Tetrasodium Etidronate, Limonene, Linalool, Perfume, Marigold Flowers (Calendula officinalis).

I think I would recommend this product as a face soap. It is rather gentle and leaves the face feeling fresh and clean. Calamine powder and chamomile calm down the face, while tea tree oil and lavender oil clear break outs. Fresh Farmacy might be a bit drying though, especially for people with sensitive skin (I personally find any product with marigold flowers very drying so I am not sure why they add it to soap which is already a product that will dry out skin).
I can't say I found this product exceptional, but it does it work well and last for a very long time.
