Vitamins for beautiful skin

A well-balanced diet is very important for good appearance of your skin, yet research shows that even if you eat a large amount of fruits and vegetables, and take vitamins in the form of pills your skin might still not be getting us much vitamins as it needs. Applying vitamins topically to your skin can solve this problem.
There are a few vitamins which are especially beneficial for your skin.

Vitamin E
It is a potent antioxidant that is thought to fight off free radicals (such as pollutants, smoke, excess sun, etc.) that cause the signs of aging. Vitamin E is often added to sunscreens and after-sun products. It is also a great moisturizer, and is found in many skin care products. Vitamin E is also know to increase the healing of scars, including acne scars.
Vitamin E can be bought in the form of an oil or capsules containing a gel. It's easy to poke a hole in the capsule and squeeze out the Vitamin E gel and apply right to your skin. You should be able to buy Vitamin E at any drugstore or online for example:

Vitamin A
It is known to be great for anti-acne and anti-aging use. It forces the skin cells to turn over faster, bringing new fresh cells to the surface of your skin. When using Vitamin A topically it should be kept in mind that it can cause some irritation to your skin, redness or even flaking, therefore it should be used in small amounts at first, every few days. Vitamin A should be applied to the skin at night, as sunlight inactivates most forms of this vitamin. Like Vitamin E it can be found in drugstores in the form of an oil or capsules with gel. It can also be purchased online:

Vitamin C
It is a very known antioxidant found in citrus fruit. Vitamin C is not only a powerful antioxidant, but also a known anti-ager. It helps the synthesis of collagen, which gives our skin a healthy, glowing look. The best way to apply Vitamin C to your skin in by using a Vitamin C serum. As I always prefer home made alternatives to the store bought beauty products I like making my own Vitamin C serum. I would advice you to try out a basic recipe and see how it works for your skin.
In order to make your own Vitamin C serum you will need Vitamin C powder (can be bought online, for example:

Vitamin C serum
1 tsp Vitamin C powder
2 tsp vegetable glycerin
To prevent having a grainy serum crush up the Vitamin C powder very well and mix with glycerin. Pour your serum into a dark glass bottle and keep in a cool dark place. Prepare small bathes of the serum and use it up within a few days. Apply 3-4 drops onto freshly washed skin and massage until the serum fully absorbs. It is best to use the serum at night.

Vitamin K and Vitamins B (B3, B5, B6, B12, etc....) can also be beneficial for your skin. Vitamin K is often added to eye creams to get rid of dark circles under your eyes. Vitamins from the "B family" are good for moisturizing your skin.
