Sea salt for your face

Recently I have sort of become obsessed with using sea salt toner on my face. I always have this impression that my skin looks and feels so much better during holidays spent at the sea or ocean. It could be because I get a lot of sun and relax as much as I want to. Mostly though I think it has a lot to do with the endless hours I spent in the salty water full of minerals good for my skin. Several years ago I remember buying and being really happy with a few products by Seacret, a cosmetic brand that uses sea salt from the dead sea. Something I was not happy with was the price of these products though....I have also heard a lot of positive comments about a sea salt face scrub Ocean Salt by Lush. I have not tried it myself as my face does not tolerate scrubs very well, and personally this one does not sound very gentle (correct me if I am wrong though).
As I don't like to use scrubs on my face I decide to make my own sea salt toner, which unfortunately is not the same as splashing your face with sea water, but it is as close as I could get. It is really simple to make, I just mix 1 tsp of sea salt with 1/4 cup warm water in a small bottle and shake well until the salt has dissolved. I like to apply this toner in the morning and let it dry on my face before applying any moisturizer or make up. You should wash it off though if you feel that your skin is itchy.
This toner leaves my face very refreshed and clean feeling. I have noticed it to reduce redness as well. Additionally it does not dry out my skin. Something I plan on doing next is a face cream with sea salt (I have been inspired by Seacret, which makes a dead sea salt face cream). I wonder how it will work!
